Musicians

Jorden Mathias

Jorden Mathias has spent the majority of his life in the Barrie area. Comes from a talented musical family. Jorden is no stranger to mental health and addiction. He struggled with Alcoholism and drug addiction for many years. After surrendering to recovery, Jorden's life started to turn around and continues to do so. Sober for over seven years, he spends most of his spare time helping others and giving back to his community. During the early days of the Covid 19 pandemic, jorden, along with his brother and other local musicians, started a Facebook page called Barrie's Live Music Show, a place for people to play music virtually. The page grew so rapidly, they decided to attach each performance to a charity local to the Barrie area, together, over the course of the pandemic, they have raised well over 100,000 dollars. Jorden also played a role in the building of The 705. A place for people with mental health and addictions to go to during the pandemic. Many groups are still available and fully functional at the local.

Kat Chabot

Kat Chabot is a local performer and singer-songwriter living in Barrie-Ontario. Coming from a musical family, she has been playing music since she was a kid and has always turned to music during hard times as a way to cope with anxiety and stress and to focus on positivity and bringing people together. She has helped to raise over $10,000 for the Cancer Care Unit at the RVH through “Paige’s Passion Music Fest” an annual charity concert to support both local patients and artists in memory of her childhood friend Paige Doucette -a drummer who loved both music and life. During the pandemic, she teamed up with the Mathias brothers and helped with events and administration for the Barrie’s Live Music Show.

A Message of Reassurance to Our Gala Guests & Supporters

As schools, concerts and sporting venues return to full capacity, we’re pleased to welcome our community back to an in-person gala. That said, we recognize that COVID-19 is not yet behind us. That’s why we’re limiting our registration numbers to support social distancing, encouraging vaccination and welcoming masking at our event.
